Writing a book is hard enough without thinking about all the details that you have to prepare for Twitter, Facebook, blog, Webpage etc. All those things require you to be succinct and clever as they seem to be founded on the principle of “brevity being the soul of whit.”
I find it harder to do this than spin the story that makes the novel. The Black Sea, my first novel has taken a long time to write, but the above 160 character “type” demands a different skills set.
Blaise Pascal wrote something very relevant to modern day social media and marketing communications back 1657:
Je n’ai fait celle-ci plus longue que parce que je n’ai pas eu le loisir de la faire plus courte.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter.
You can follow me on my American adventures – yes, again – for the next 6-8 weeks on Twitter – @vpvonhoehen and for the funner stuff on The Viscount’s Table @viscounts_table
Remember you can order The Black Sea on blackmarypress.net and at the cooler purveyors of books from April. The Black Sea is the first in the Kate Allen thriller franchise.
